
A tragic shooting on the Northside of Columbus earlier this month has led to the arrest of two teenagers. According to a post from the Columbus Division of Police, on May 4, officers arrived at East Dublin-Granville Road to find two young males wounded by gunfire. Seventeen-year-old Ariyaun Burton was transported to a local hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead. The other victim, whose name has not been disclosed, is expected to recover from their injuries.
The shooting, which unfolded in the 900 block of E. Lincoln Avenue, swiftly led to the apprehension of two suspects. Per the police department's social media update, both Westin Taylor and Lakai Jones, both also 17, have been charged with murder and felonious assault. The police have yet to provide details on the circumstances that led to the shooting or how the arrest of the suspects was effected. However, the ongoing investigation prompts a call to the public for any additional information.
